Our time in Ireland was magical.
Newgrange. Connemara. The Cliffs of Moher. Glendalough. I could go on! Thousands of beautiful photos, but in my moments of reminiscence this is always one of my favorites.
Kissing the Blarney Stone. What a thrill! I had always dreamed of making the journey, but never really thought I would have the opportunity. Having ancestors from Cork, Ireland, it was incredible to think of my great grandmother climbing the same ancient staircase many years before to participate in this historic rite of passage.
The cherry on top of my time on the grounds was this wildflower garden directly in front of the castle. There are many gardens there, including a rare poisonous garden behind the castle. Plus I mean, it is Ireland. The entire island is a glimmering green gem of flowers and life.
Something about this garden was different.
The entire area buzzing with positive energy. I was wrapped in the warmth of a beautiful sunny day, a cool breeze, and bees hopping lightly from flower to flower. People lounging on a fresh blanket of grass and basking in the history of the place.
I stretched out on the grass with my husband, surrounded by a bed of golden and white wildflowers 2 or 3 feet high. Growing free and ever seeking out the light.
I took a deep breath and I was filled with gratitude. It was perfect.

Beautiful post! I will travel to Ireland in September… How nice it will be to visit the Blarney Castle and stretch out on the grass, too!

That sounds absolutely amazing and welcoming. I kind of disappeared there just by reading this. Then at the last line I came back to reality and realized I was at work. Waaaah!!! Ok, reading it again to feel like I’m there with you =]
